CAJUN PORK CHOPS
Updated: Apr 11, 2020
Juicy, tender pork chops, baked with the mild spicy Cajun seasonings until you see the dark golden and slight char of the meat. The beautiful coloring is one of the particular highlights of this seasoning method. When it comes comes to pork, my main focus is to always ensure that I get lean cuts of meat that contain as little fat as possible. I make certain the meat is well marinated prior to cooking and that it is not then over cooked, as over cooking makes the meat quite tough and dry. As for most of my recipes, this one is quite simple and very easy to throw together. Here's my recipe
CAJUN SEASONING BLEND
2 teaspoons Salt
2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
2 1/2 teaspoons Smoked Paprika
1 teaspoon ground Black Pepper
1 teaspoon Onion Powder
1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
1 1/4 teaspoons Italian Seasoning
1 1/4 teaspoons dried Thyme
1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
●Combine in a bowl and blend with spoon and set aside.
4 Pork Chops
2 tbsp Olive Oil
●Wash chops with lemon or vinegar water and pat dry.
●Place in a large mixing bowl with cajun seasoning and rub well into chops and set aside to marinate for 15-30 mins.
●Preheat oven at 275°
●Foil and grease baking dish well and place chops on tray and into the oven to bake for 35-40 mins turning at 10 min intervals to ensure each side gets the required color.
When chops are finished cooking remove from oven and serve hot.
