Teri's Chili

Chili is a dish that is a perfect mix of flavors. That beefy flavor from the minced beef and the distinct flavor of the kidney beans married by the tomatoes and spices is almost indescribable. What makes chili perfectly comforting is the spiciness of the chili. Now you may regret it the next day if your stomach is of a more delicate nature, but let me tell you it's certainly hard to resist and I know this first hand. Lots of folks have special chili recipes and mine is just how I like my recipes: simple and to the point but no less delicious. I hope you enjoy making this.


1 lb Minced Beef

1 med Onion diced

2 tbsp Olive Oil

1 can (16 oz) Kidney Beans

2 cups Pureed Fresh Tomatoes (chunky)

You can use canned if you like

2 cup Tomato Paste

2 tbsp Granulated Sugar

3 cloves Garlic chopped

1 1/2 cups Water

1 tbsp Chili Powder

(you can increase by desired level of spiciness you enjoy)

2 tbsp Cumin

1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper

Salt and Pepper to taste


●To a medium sized hot soup pan add olive oil

●Add garlic and onions and saute for a few seconds till fragrant.

●Add minced beef and cook for 5 mins or until al the beef has browned.

●To the cooked beef add your kidney beans, tomato puree, tomato paste, cumin, chili powder and cayenne pepper and mix well.

●Add in your granulated sugar and then stir in your liquid.

●Allow your chili to come to a simmer on a low heat for 15-20 min then season with salt and pepper.

●Once chili has thickened to you liking remove from heat and serve.

You can serve with whichever sides of your liking you can spice up with as much heat as you like my main concern is that you enjoyyyy.
