Fried Rice 

Most if not every Trinbagoian household can attest to loving a good Fries Rice (sundaylunchtings) and while this dish is traditionally Asian every Trini household has a way to do theirs that varies quite a bit from the really authentic versions. It's a testament though to melting pot of cultures in this beautiful twin island republic and how much the varying flavors and tastes have influenced our food favorites through every generation. I have a few different ways that I prepare fried rice but this is the most simple and clean version I use. Here's my recipe, I do hope you enjoy. Ingredients 2 cups rice

1/2 cup chopped celery

1 medium carrot grated

2 cloves garlic grated

1 tbsp chief fried rice seasoning

1 tsp salt

Pinch black pepper

2 tbsp olive oil

Method


●Place rice in boiling water for 10-15 mins or until soft. Drain and set aside.

●In Wok or Frying pan add oil to pot and when oil has heated slightly add grated garlic. Saute for 30 seconds (be careful not to burn garlic)

●Add celery and carrots and toss. Cook for 1 min then add rice, fried rice seasoning, salt and black pepper.

●Incorporate all ingredients properly by tossing and turn off heat.

Serve hot with desired stews, salads or beans.
