Vegan "Pulled Pork"
I love the shroomies okay, they're definitely meal highlights. They can tie meals together in such beautiful ways with their woody flavors and juicy meaty textures that vary from shroom to shroom. It's a challenge to obtain a wide variety locally and even when I do find suppliers, there isn't always a steady supply. When I do find me some good old Oyster Mushrooms though, I get so excited lol. Can you tell I love these? This recipes is amazing! You get smoky and sweet bbq sauce with so many flavors mixed in through the seasonings, and the texture of the mushrooms are just simply perfect. Here's my recipe and I really do hope you enjoy. INGRIEDIENTS 1/2lb Oyster Mushrooms (washed & torn into strips) 1 small Onion chopped 2 cloves Garlic crushed & chopped 2 tbsps Green Seasoning 2 tbsp Olive Oil 1/8 cup Water 1/2 cup Bbq Sauce 1 tsp Liquid Smoke 3 tbsp Honey 2 tsp Dark Soy Sauce 1 tsp Dried Parsley 1 tsp Garlic Powder 1 tsp Paprika 1/2 tsp Black Pepper 1/2 tsp Salt METHOD ●Place strips of mushrooms in large mixing bowl, add the green seasoning, paprika, black pepper, dried parsley, garlic powder and salt mix well. ●To a skillet on medium heat add olive oil and allow it heat up. ●Add garlic and onion and allow to cook for 30 sec till fragrant. ●Add mushrooms and saute for 2-3 mins the add water and allow to cook for 7 mins more. ●Once mushrooms have cooked add bbq sauce, liquid smoke, soy sauce, honey and stir well. ●Bring to a simmer for a further 5-8 mins and then remove from heat. ●Serve with whatever sides you choose because this is delicious and easily paired.
